Lil Boosie about to take over rap music?

NEW ORLEANS  Rapper Lil Boosie says serving time in a Louisiana prison on drug charges was life changing, has made him a better person and ultimately, he hopes, a better artist.

"I feel like I've got more stories to tell," Lil Boosie said during a press event Monday in New Orleans. "I've got a lot to say about my life, about what I went through in prison and about what my family went through.

"I'm a much better person. I'm much stronger. I know who my real friends are and I know who ain't."

Angela Yee, a radio personality on Power 105.1 in New York, moderated the rapper's first public interview since being released last week from Louisiana's maximum security prison at Angola. Rappers Bun B, Young Jeezy and Webbie were there to show support as well as members of his family and legal team.

"This is a big day for Trill Entertainment and a big day for the hip-hop community," said Houston native Bun B, the independent label's chief executive who came off tour to support Boosie's homecoming.

Bun B said Boosie and Webbie were the first artists Trill Entertainment signed.

"He took off with flying colors and went above and beyond what we expected," he said of Boosie. "We couldn't be more proud of him."

Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch, said the first thing he did following his release was reconnect with his seven children. "I'm still enjoying the moment, enjoying my family you know? I'm just soaking in time with the kids and the studio."

He said he's been spending as much time as possible in the studio - good news for Trill Entertainment and distributor Atlantic records. While imprisoned following a 2009 drug conviction, Hatch said he wrote 1,018 songs.

"I was focused on my music," he said when asked about life behind bars. "I didn't spend too much time seeing what other (rappers) were doing. But of what I've heard over the last few days, I feel the rap game is wide open for me to take over.

After Macklemore walked off the stage with his Grammy for Best New Rap Artist on Jan. 26, he made a deliberate effort to let everyone know that there were other rap artists that should have walked away with some golden hardware of their own.

The “Thrift Shop” rapper then took a screen shot of the text message, and posted it on Instagram.

According to Drake, making it public took all the sincerity out of the apology. “That s–t was wack as f–k,” Drake tells Rolling Stone in the new issue of the magazine, which is set to hit newsstands Feb. 14.

Drake went on to say, “It felt cheap. It didn’t feel genuine.”

Drake didn’t stop there, and continued to hammer home his point about how Macklemore should have handled himself.

“Take Your W, and if you feel you don’t deserve it, go get better — make better music,” Drake tells Rolling Stone.

RapperT-Pain is accusing certain members of the hip hop community of blacklisting Frank Ocean because of his sexuality.

During an expletive-filled interview with Vlad TV, the King Of Auto-Tune claimed some rappers refuse to work with the openly-gay R&B singer, who caused a media stir when came out of the closet in 2012

“I think the radio is getting more gay friendly,” he said. “I don’t think urban music or anything is getting more gay friendly. If that was the case, Frank Ocean would be on a lot more songs. I know n—–s that will not do a song with Frank Ocean just because he gay, but they need him on the f–king song and that’s so terrible to me, man. It’s like, ‘Dude, my lifestyle ain’t gonna change how people see you.’”

“Like, he was on the Watch the Throne album before he came out,” T-Pain continued, “and then when he came out, it’s like he can’t get in the studio with Jay and Kanye right now. It’s so f–king terrible. … It’s in his f–king genes. It’s not a f–king choice. The man came out like that, and you can’t just f–king disown this man because he’s living a certain life that you don’t f–king approve of because somebody told you not to approve of it.”

Mazaradi Fox killing was Payback!!!

The January murder of Mazaradi Fox — a Queens rapper who counted 50 Cent as a lifelong friend — was 16 years in the making, cops said Tuesday as they announced an arrest in the case.

The suspect was retaliating against Fox for a murder Fox allegedly participated in back in 1998, officials said.

The arrested man, Jamal Scott, 35, is the '98 victim's older brother, according to police sources.

Scott, of Jamaica, Queens, was charged with second-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder and felony assault early Tuesday for blasting a Nissan SUV full of people, including Fox, 42, whose real name was Jamal Green, and three others.

Fox, who once rolled with 50 Cent's G-Unit crew, stumbled out of the ride and died in a driveway at Farmers Blvd. and 134th Ave. Three other people in the SUV were wounded by the hail of bullets.

Cops said the gunman in the brazen 4:10 p.m. shooting Jan. 3 was wearing all black and a ski mask and fled in a dark Hyundai sedan.

Scott's brother Curtis was 21 when he was shot dead by Fox and another man outside Jamaica's Baisley Park Houses on July 7, 1998.

The gunfire erupted after Fox got into an argument with several men and ordered an associate to open fire, cops said.
