NEW Incredible footage reveals the moment a woman in Haiku City, China, was grabbed by her boyfriend and stuffed down a manhole - umbrella and all - and closed the cover over her. She remained stuck there for 60 hours until her cries for help alerted passers-by. Rescued wearing only her underwear (right), the woman was swollen and pale from her prolonged soaking and exhausted from spending nearly three days struggling to keep from drowning in her watery tomb. Plucked from the hole by pedestrians who heard her desperate screams for help, the woman (pictured top right in hospital) had constructed a 'cloth ladder' from her clothing to reach the manhole lid - only to find she was not strong enough to lift it up. The man who shoved her down the hole claimed they were lovers and he did it because he was a gambling addict and owed her $16,500.
